Privacy policy

Doorstep helps real estate agents run open-house check-ins. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
Who is responsible
When you check in at an open house, the agent and agency running the inspection collect your details, and they are responsible for how they use them. Doorstep stores and processes that information for the agent. For agent accounts, Doorstep is responsible.
What we collect
Visitors: name, phone, email, whether you own a home, your current home's address (if you choose to share it), and your moving timeline. Agents: email address, listing details and agency details.
Why we collect it
To record who attended an inspection, to let the agent follow up about the property, and — if you share it — to let the agent talk with you about selling your current home. We only send you marketing if you tick the marketing box, and every marketing message includes a way to unsubscribe (Spam Act 2003).
Disclosure and storage
Your details go only to the agent for that listing. We do not sell personal information. Data is stored with secure cloud providers that may keep it outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to make sure they protect it to an equivalent standard (APP 8).
Access, correction and deletion
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information by contacting the agent, or by emailing doorstepbeta@webcraftsolutions.info. We will respond within 30 days.
Data breaches
If a breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected people and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Complaints
Email doorstepbeta@webcraftsolutions.info. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the OAIC at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
